Class 2 gave three brilliant performances of their Christmas play entitled ‘A Christmas Recipe’ on Monday and Tuesday. The acting was amazingly confident and all the children sang their hearts out! Pupils, parents and grandparents thoroughly enjoyed watching the Class 2 superstars!
On Thursday 8th and Friday 9th November Irthington Village School had their Thinking and Remembrance Days. The theme was Armistice Day and each class had different activities to celebrate the end of the 1st World War as well as two whole school projects.
The ROTA Kids Halloween disco raised an amazing £72.50! This is a super start to our fundraising year. Thank you to all of the children who took part and kindly donated.

On Thursday 11th October we had went along to St. Kentigern’s Church to celebrate our Harvest Festival. All the children took a vast array of fruit, vegetables, biscuits, tins, jams and bread to church to celebrate the harvest.
Class 2 enjoyed a fabulous visit to the Hindu temple. We learned all about Hinduism, listened to some Hindu stories, played instruments, dressed up, had our hands painted and enjoyed a delicious Indian lunch of vegetable and paneer curry, rice, puri bread and ice-cream!
Class 1 have had a busy few weeks so far and have baked apple crumbles after collecting our own apples, made ladybirds, had fun dressing up, played with our friends, repaired the decking and role play house with an assortment of tools and looked after a large collection of dolls!
Many thanks to all the volunteers who looked after the school garden over the summer. Look what we picked at our first gardening club of the autumn term – courgettes, carrots and beetroot!
