Next PTA Meeting

To be confirmed

PTA Newsletter 6th May 2015

Dear all

During another well attended PTA meeting last Monday 27th April, the PTA confirmed that we would pay for 3 Moky fit dance/fitness sessions for the children. These began today and I’ve been hearing very good reviews from pupils and teachers, each class will join in with 2 sessions during this half term.
Last week the school was approached by an editorial assistant from PTA+, a national magazine that we subscribe to, who had seen some details of the scarecrow festivals we ran and asked for a testimonial and some photos. I heard back today that details about this enjoyable fundraising event will be turned into a small feature in a forthcoming magazine to help to provide inspiration to other PTAs, and the magazine have expressed interest in our worm charming event too!
Speaking of events, it is now time to ask all willing parental helpers to put their names forward for the Summer Fair, see diary dates below. We are planning a few different stalls and games this year including welly wanging, a human fruit machine, and a guess the teacher competition. Fancy dress entrants will be judged in two categories of nursery/KS1, and KS2, and following the curriculum for the term the theme is ‘Madagascar’.
Our last event of the 14/15 school year is the dual Worm Charming/Grand Raffle. In order to start planning for this we are also requesting grand raffle prizes. Also, if anyone works for a company that offers match funding, the PTA would be very grateful if one of our events could be considered, please see me or another committee member, or Mrs Robinson in the school office.
Finally, one Dad has approached me to ask if anyone may like to join him over a weekend this summer to do the coast to coast cycle ride, and possibly raise money for the PTA. This is just an idea at this stage so if anyone is interested please leave details in the school office to be passed on.
