Thinking Days 2018

On Thursday 8th and Friday 9th November Irthington Village School had their Thinking and Remembrance Days. The theme was Armistice Day and each class had different activities to celebrate the end of the 1st World War as well as two whole school projects.

Classes 1, 2 and 3 all made poppies to be laminated for the fence outside the playground. The whole school also made poppy templates which they drew around on the playground wall and painted throughout the two days. In Class 1 we made flags showing the countries that fought in the 1st World War. Class 2 made a selection of clocks with their hands showing 11 o’clock-the time the 1st World War ended. Class 3 made bricks which once assembled form the commemorative cross in St Kentigern’s churchyard.

What a busy and enjoyable two days we had.
