At the sleepover on Friday the children all enjoyed designing and making their own totem poles. Have a look at the finished articles and the winners from each year group – Jasmine, Natalia, Gracie, Izzy and Julia. Well done girls!
We had a great morning on Friday with a Fairtrade treasure hunt, organised by Jessica, Natalia, Fallon and Frances in Year 5. The winners can be seen with their prizes at our Celebration assembly. We also had a Fairtrade snack. Look at the lovely products we sampled!
Last week two ladies came to do an assembly about the Quakers. Everyone enjoyed listening all about their religion and how they worship. The children were full of questions which Annie and Margaret happy answered.
On Thursday 26th January Nina and Andy Roddam came into school to tell us all about Chinese New Year. Andy told us all about auspicious greetings, what happens in China when the New Year is being celebrated, why different animals represent the year, the colour red and many more fascinating facts.
On Thursday 12th January, Steve and Simone came to school to tidy up straggly branches on our willow dome and to create an exciting new structure. Despite it being very chilly, the whole school went out in different groups to help construct a willow tunnel.
On Friday 2nd December, Class 1 went on their Christmas trip to Rheged for a fun filled Christmas day. When we were there we went into Santa’s Magical Forest, where we got to meet him and we were all given a present.
These budding Masterchefs have been busy baking lots of delicious treats at after school cookery club including hallowe'en cupcakes, tuna melt parcels, drop scones and festive reindeer cupcakes. They have even washed and dried up...most of the time!
On Thursday 10th November, the whole school gathered in the hall to watch our WW1 film that we made last year. After the film we were shown a poppy that we were going to make with felt and buttons to then add to a class wreath to place at the foot of the memorial cross on the 11th November.
Class 2 have been learning how to write instructions. Here they are, enjoying some sandwiches which they made, following their own recipes!
The Halloween fancy dress and disco were a huge success. Thank you to everyone that took part and donated food. You helped us raise £143.00!
The ROTA Kids
On Wednesday 21st September, the Life Bus came to school for the day. We had a really interesting time learning all about ourselves, how we can stay healthy and how our bodies work. The whole school had a chance to go onto the Life Bus in different groups. Here are some photos from Nursery and Reception’s turn.
We held our third consecutive Coffee Afternoon to raise funds and awareness for the work of MacMillan On Thursday 22nd September.
Parents, children and staff baked and made cakes and other sweet treats for this worthwhile event!
